Artomatic Installation

After a feverish two weeks of dyeing, sewing, and painting, I have finally finished installing at Artomatic! Artomatic is a DC-area arts phenomenon in which a community of over a thousand local artists turns a vacant building into a temporary mega gallery and performance space. This year, we’ve taken over a former Department of Defense building in Crystal City, VA, so there are 9 floors of government offices-turned-art space.  The whole operation is put on by volunteers and the artists ourselves, so it’s a great way to meet other local artists.

Since I only found out that registration was still open for the show after we got home from our honeymoon about two weeks ago, I didn’t have nearly as much time to get ready as I would have liked. All the same, I’m happy with what I managed to accomplish in such short time, and am using the opportunity as an excuse to print up a big stack of business cards and set up a website. It’s a running start for sure. Please stay tuned as I pull the website together in the coming days.

The show opens this Friday, May 18 at 6 PM and is located at 1851 S. Bell St., Crystal City, VA. See you there!
